The neurosurgery team at Dr. Soliman #Fakeeh Hospital – Madinah has successfully treated, by the grace of God, a complex case of a patient suffering from seizures and motor spasms that impacted her quality of life, resulting from a brain tumor in a highly sensitive location.

The patient’s journey began with a precise initial assessment led by Dr. Amin Tajeddine, Head of the Neurology Department, where a brain tumor was suspected. The case was then referred to the neurosurgery team to complete the diagnosis and establish the appropriate treatment plan.

Advanced imaging and diagnostic tests revealed a tumor in the left parietal lobe of the brain. This is a highly sensitive site due to its direct connection to the motor and writing centers, making the surgical intervention a challenge that required the highest levels of precision and advanced planning.

Given the tumor's critical location, the medical team developed a meticulous surgical plan based on defining the tumor's boundaries with extreme accuracy, while ensuring the full preservation of the brain's vital functions and avoiding any potential impact on the patient's motor and functional abilities.

The procedure was performed using advanced surgical techniques, including precise planning via MRI and specialized measurements, alongside the use of a surgical microscope and the latest tools and technologies in neurosurgery. This allowed the intervention to be carried out with high precision, minimizing risks to the lowest possible level.

By the grace of God, the operation was a success. The tumor was resected while maintaining vital brain functions, contributing to the control of the seizures and significantly improving the patient's quality of life.

The surgery was led by a specialized medical team including:

  • Dr. Abdulrahman Dabwan, Consultant Neurosurgeon.
  • Dr. Ahmed AlTaifi, Consultant Anesthesiologist.
  • Dr. Mohammed BaWazir, Consultant Anesthesiologist.
  • Supported by the dedicated nursing team.
